Naturally, every pet food manufacturer will tell you that their food is best, and they use quality ingredients. As breeders we know that changing your pet's diet is not a trivial decision. After doing some research of our own, we decided to switch from Nature's Recipe to

Flint River Ranch Super Premium Health Food for Dogs.

For those of you who may not know, Ethoxyquin is a substance made by the Monsanto Corporation that is used to preserve meat. It appears in the ingredient list for Iams and Eukanuba dog foods. This substance is listed as a hazardous material by OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety Administration) and by law must be shipped in containers marked POISON. It is against the law to include Ethoxyquin in meat destined for consumption by humans. Yet it is perfectly legal to use this substance as a pet food preservative.

Why did we switch to Flint River? Why should you consider trying Flint River? Any food from a reputable manufacturer will most likely satisfy your pet's basic nutritional requirements. But consider the following facts about Flint River Ranch that to my knowledge cannot be matched by any other pet food.

• Flint River Ranch is guaranteed to include only ingredients that are fit for human consumption. In other words, the chicken and lamb used in Flint River are no different than what you would prepare for your family's dinner. There are treats and supplements made of human grade ingredients but I am aware of no other complete diet that can make this claim.
• Flint River Ranch is delivered direct to your home or office by UPS. You do not have to buy large quantities to get this service. The individual pet owner who needs only 20 lbs per month can get home delivery just like the large kennel owner who may need 500 lbs per month. Also you can set up a standing regular ordered called "auto-ship". You can set up an automatic monthly or bi-weekly order for whatever amount you require. Payment is charged against your checking account or VISA or Mastercard.
• Looking for a pet-related business opportunity? You can become a Flint River Ranch distributor. There is no sign up fee. The company does offer some business start-up materials which will cost about $50 but it is not mandatory to purchase them. Simply use the food, share it with others, and when they order, they will reference you as a distributor. You can earn a 19% commission on monthly sales of $100 or more (this includes your purchases plus those of your customers). If you have 50 customers who average 40 lbs of food per month, your commission is 19% of 2,000 or $380. You do not have to be a distributor to use Flint River Ranch, and no one will ever pester you to become a distributor. If you just want to provide your pet with the best possible nutrition and are not interested in the business, that's fine too!
• Most importantly, Flint River Ranch provides the finest possible nutrition for your pets. It is formulated in adherence to AAFCO (Association of Animal Feed Control Officials) guidelines, as are all pet foods manufactured by reputable companies, but the key difference is that there are no chemical preservatives, artifical colors, or cheap by-products such as heads, feet, poultry feathers, and organ meats.
• One cup of Flint River Ranch dog food provides approximately 414 calories. In many cases, it costs less to feed Flint River because where some larger dogs may need 5 to 6 cups of another food, they only need 3 to 4 cups of Flint River.
